Lapkričio 20-ąją (pirmadienį) Pakruojo sinagogoje – iki Antrojo pasaulinio karo buvusioje žydų maldos ir bendruomenės susibūrimo erdvėje – Šiaulių apskrities religinė žydų bendruomenė inicijuoja PALAIKYMO AKCIJĄ IZRAELIUI,  spalio 7 d. patyrusiam brutalią islamistų grupuotės „Hamas“ ataką. Pagrindinė akcijos mintis ir tikslas – prisiminti žydų tautos istoriją, atkreipti visuomenės dėmesį į tai, kad, nepaisant kasmet kartojamų žodžių „Daugiau niekada“, šiandien Holokausto istorija kartojasi.

Vienas žiauriausių nusikaltimų žmogiškumui buvo įvykdytas 1943 m. lapkričio 5 d. Šiauliuose, kai vadinamosios „vaikų akcijos“ metu, Šiaulių gete iš žydų buvo brutaliai atimti 725 vaikai. Kartu su 92 nedarbingais arba tuo metu dėl ligos nedirbusiais kaliniais, prekiniais vagonais pasmerktieji išvežti į Osvencimo (Lenkija) koncentracijos stovyklą, kurioje visi nužudyti. Šiaulių apskrities religinė žydų bendruomenės ir Izraelio Yad Vashem muziejus šio tragiško įvykio 80-mečiui parengė parodą.  Joje – tik nedidelė dalis  nužudytų vaikų nuotraukų, saugomų Izraelio Holokausto memorialo ekspozicijoje.

Šiems vaikams padėti jau nebegalime, tačiau... Spalio 7-ąją palestiniečių grupuotė „Hamas“, įsiveržusi į Izraelį iš Gazos Ruožo, nužudė mažiausiai 1,4 tūkst. žmonių, daugiausia – civilių, ir paėmė daugiau nei du šimtus įkaitų. Tarp jų – pagrobti ir šiandien visiškoje nežinioje yra trisdešimt įvairaus amžiaus nepilnamečiai. Vaikai, kurie dar turi vilties išgyventi ir gyventi.

Akcija Pakruojyje vyks nuo 11 iki 17 val. Įėjimas – laisvas Dalyvaudami joje, prisiminsime ne tik prieš 80 metų nužudytus Šiaulių geto vaikus, bet palaikysime ir „Hamas“ teroristų pagrobtus izraelitus. Rabinas Izraelis Salanteris (Lipkinas) yra pasakęs: „kol yra žvakė ir dega jos liepsna – gyvenimas tęsiasi ir viską galima pakeisti“. Ši gerai žinoma žinutė šiandien aktuali kaip niekada. Kol žybsi vilties liepsnelė, kad pagrobtieji dar gyvi, mes privalome palaikyti bei stiprinti juos ne tik mintimis, bet ir darbais. Privalome kalbėti, kad Pasaulis išgirstų – MES ESAME KARTU SU IZRAELIU!

On Monday, November 20th, the Religious Jewish Community of Šiauliai County is initiating a SUPPORT CAMPAIGN FOR ISRAEL in the Pakruojis Synagogue, the place that was hosting the Jewish prayer and community gatherings even before World War II. On October 7th, this year, the State of Israel suffered a brutal attack from the Islamist militant group “Hamas”. The main purpose and idea of this campaign is to remember Jewish history once more, noting that in spite of the endlessly repeated slogan "Never Again", the history of the Holocaust is happening once again today. One of the most brutal crimes against humanity was committed in 1943, on November 5th in Šiauliai, during the so-called “children’s action”, when 725 children were brutally abducted from the Jews in the Šiauliai ghetto, together with the 92 prisoners who were unfit for work or were ill that day. They were put on a freight train and transported to the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland to be murdered there. The Religious Jewish Community of Šiauliai County and the Yad Vashem Museum of Israel have arranged an exhibition to commemorate the 80th anniversary of this tragedy. Displayed is only a part of the portraits of murdered children; other photographs are kept in the Israel Holocaust Memorial.

We can no longer help these children, yet... On October 7th, the Palestinian militant group "Hamas" invaded Israel from the Gaza Strip, killing at least 1.4 thousand people, mostly civilians, and taking more than two hundred hostages. Among them are thirty children of different ages. Their fate is unknown to this day, yet they do have hope to survive and to live.

The support campaign in Pakruojis will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entrance is free. By participating there, we commemorate the children murdered in the Šiauliai ghetto 80 years ago, and altogether, we support the Israelis recently kidnapped by the Hamas terrorists. Rabbi Israel Salanter (Lipkin) once said: “As long as there is a candle and the flame is burning, life goes on, and all can still be changed”. Today, this message of hope is more relevant than ever. As long as we have just a glimmer of hope for the hostages’ lives, we shall support and strengthen them with our thoughts, but not only—also with our deeds. We must speak aloud for the world to hear us – YES, WE STAND WITH ISRAEL!
